Personally, i feel that English is a language that must be mastered by eveyone. The reson being--English language can understood by people of all races. Imagine a scene where people of all races do not know english and they are all speaking to each other in their own language ... how can they ever communicate ?! So, i feel that if everybody knows a little about English, it would still be beneficial to everyone.
Let's not say that i don't like English, just that i prefer Mandarin over it because i grow up in a chinese speaking environment . Similarly to those who grow up in a English speaking environment , i'm sure they preferred English more.
Whether it is easy to learn this language must depend on one's person ability, as for myself, i would say that i'm neither the best nor the weakest in it. As there are many components in English , such as composition, summary , vocabulary... so we can't reallly judge whether we excel in this subject a not. Well, it all depends !
As i've mentioned, i grew up in a chinese speaking environment, so naturally, i would prefer Mandarin to be my choice of commmunication. If i were to speak English , my speech would probably be not as fluent and i would feel awkward, i guess its because i'm not used to speaking in English .
If i had a choice as to how English lessons is conducted, i just hope that it will not be too boring. To define what type of lesson is boring...My guess is that when teachers does all the teachings and explanations, then is the time when lessons gets boring. Conducting powerpoints is fine to me , as long as the contents don't get boring. With suitable background musics , it would be even better ! Doing groupworks occasionally during English lessons would also be a suitable suggestion.
